Our Curriculum
The Avenue curriculum.
Our curriculum aims to deliver a broad and balanced offer, with a strong focus on supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs, ensuring they receive a holistic education that promotes their overall well-being and academic success.
Our key outcomes for the children in The Avenue, will be;
- An understanding of the wider world and the expectations of it, providing an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the diverse needs of our children, ensuring they can access and engage with the content effectively.
- Have an understanding on how to treat others in the wider community and working closely with them to achieve this, prioritising the social and emotional development of our children. A curriculum which includes activities and lessons that help children develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive relationships.
- Being able to achieve their own personal goals to encourage confidence, developing life skills which equip children with the essentials that prepare them for adulthood. This includes fostering independence, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Set high expectations for all children, encouraging them to achieve their full potential. Our curriculum is designed to close learning gaps and provide challenging yet achievable goals.
- Based on the nurture group principles, ensuring a safe and consistent environment where children can thrive. We provide spaces for children to manage their emotions and regain composure when needed.
