Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
We want all our children to have an increased awareness of the world around them. Our MFL curriculum aims to instill a love for language learning and cultural exploration in our children alongside the understanding that knowing English is simply not enough.
We want our children to enjoy and engage with their MFL studies; exploring language and culture whilst gaining insight into the structures and rules that govern all languages. MFL learning is based on four skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing which are given equal weighting within our curriculum.
We measure the impact of our MFL curriculum by engaging in non-intrusive, adult led assessment and/or peer assessment with our children every half term.
