At Templars Academy, our Mathematics curriculum follows the White Rose progression of learning, designed to build deep, interconnected mathematical understanding and fluency. We aim to develop confident, competent mathematicians who can apply their knowledge across a range of contexts, including science, computing, and everyday life.

    Our curriculum:

    • Emphasises a coherent sequence of learning, carefully structured to build from simple to complex concepts, ensuring secure understanding before progression.
    • Supports pupils to move fluently between representations of mathematical ideas, fostering mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
    • Provides rich and sophisticated challenges for pupils who grasp concepts rapidly, while ensuring those needing consolidation receive additional practice to secure their understanding.
    • Integrates opportunities for pupils to apply their mathematical knowledge in cross-curricular contexts, reinforcing connections between subjects.
    • Prioritises equity and inclusivity, using systematic instruction and rehearsal to support pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils to keep up and succeed.
    • Encourages the development of a rich mathematical vocabulary to articulate reasoning clearly and precisely.
    • Is regularly assessed to identify and address misconceptions, ensuring all pupils make sustained progress.

We are committed to delivering a high-quality Mathematics education that nurtures curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
