Welcome to Wood Green's Class Page
My name is Miss Irvine, I am the class teacher for Wood Green. I have two children, one is a beautiful dancer and the other loves to play football. In my spare time - I love all things Harry Potter plus I love to draw! I am usually based in Year 5/6, so this is a fantastic learning opportunity for me and to have lots of fun! Myself and the children are really lucky to have Miss King and Miss Wilkerson work alongside us in class. I will update this page regulary to keep you up-to-date with forth coming information and provide links to how you will be able to access work.
Our main point of communication and access to learning will be provided through Purple Mash.
Children's login details were sent home via a letter and are also printed inside the front cover of the children's Home School Diaries. Purple Mash will be updated daily with learning tasks and activities, children will be sent an alert to notify them of new work. You will find a blog titled 'Wood Green's Learning Blog' where I will explain learning activities and post links for videos and other fun/creative ideas. I have also created another 'Blog Page' which children and parents can access to keep in touch, talk about their learning at home etc and communicate with myself.
Below is an image on how to access our 'Learning Blog' through Purple Mash.
Sharing > Shared Blogs > Wood Green's Learning Blog
Children were also issued with a MyMaths Login and a letter was sent home to parents. The login is also situated on the inside of the children's Home School Diaries. MyMaths activities will be updated daily and I will notify you of this when they become available through our Learning Blog via Purple Mash.
Where possible, children should try to complete at least 1 piece of English, 1 piece of Maths and 1 piece of work from another subject such as Science, Geography or RE, along with reading daily at home and practising spellings.
If you are unable to access the learning online, we have created some activity sheets for you with various ideas on that can be completed without the use of the internet.
I have covered the following areas: English, Spellings, Reading and Geography.
Children have 10 words to learn and practise each week.
Use the Spelling Menu above to practise many different ways to write your spellings.
Please find below some links suitable for you to use at home. GoNoodle are fun exercise breaks which you can sign up to for free and also on YouTube you will find lots of fantastic Yoga workouts hosted by Cosmic Kids which all the children has seen and used in class.
