It has been lovely speaking to you over the last week and finding out what you have all been up too so far over this difficult time. We have loved all the photos you have sent in through the class email and these have been uploaded to the class blog page on Purple Mash. We hope you are all having fun at home and enjoying our home learning ideas.
Below are the activities you can enjoy with your child over the coming week. Please continue to forward any photos to our class email as we always love to see them and we can upload these to the class blog for everyone to see.
Class email address: email@example.com
Can you have a go at writing your own name? We did start this before we had to close the school and now that some of you will be starting Reception soon its important that we continue with this.
Just 5 minutes a day practising writing your name would be great.
All you will need is a piece of paper, a ruler and a pen. Ask an adult to write your name in a light coloured pen or pencil.
Can you go over the lines to write your name? When you feel ready to do so can you write your name all on your own underneath?
I am happy to create a name mat which can be laminated and collected from school if you wish. All your child would need is a whiteboard pen which they can then just keep copying and writing as many times as they like. If you would like me to create this for you then please let me know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will then prepare and laminate and email/call you once this is ready for collection.
Can you write recognise and write numbers 1-10. This is another great activitiy to practise this skill.
Once again you could write numbers 1-10 on a piece of paper and then write over them and then have a go at copying them underneath. If you wish to have one printed and laminated to collect from school please let me know once again by sending an email to email@example.com.
Below is a short film the children have watched at school. Its about a caterpillar trying so hard to fit into a cocoon to turn into a beautiful butterfly. There are some funny moments the children loved as the caterpillar tries so hard to squeeze into the cocoon.

Can you complete the pattern on the butterfly? You will need to look at the key at the top of the page to see which colour you will need to colour in each shape.
Remember to send these through the class email address once you have finished them as I would love to see them.
Take a look at this wonderful butterfly made from a paper plate. Can you make one too? What shapes are you going to use? Remember to send them through the class email address so I can see your wonderful creations.
We play this phonics game a lot at school. You will need to enter the user name march20 and the password home
Sound out all the sounds in the CVC word and then blend it together to make the word. Can you find the picture to match the word you have just read?
It would be lovely to see any photos of you playing this game. Please remember to send them to me!
Can you match the rhyming words to bake the cake?
Can you put these numbers in the correct order?
If you can do this then challenge yourself to numbers 1-10!
We know that its so important to wash our hands. Especially at this difficult time we may need to wash our hands more times than usual.
Do you know what you need to do first? Colour the pictures in first and then cut them out. Can you put them in order? Which picture will you choose to be first? Talk to your adult what you would do first?
There is also a PowerPoint you can watch with an adult to remind you.
