Our main point of communication and access to learning will be provided through Purple Mash.
Children's login details were sent home via a letter and are also printed inside the front cover of the children's Home School Diaries. Purple Mash will be updated daily with learning tasks and activities, children will be sent an alert to notify them of new work. You will find a blog titled 'Russell Square Learning Blog' where I will explain learning activities and post links for videos and other fun/creative things to do. I have also created another 'Blog Page' which children and parents can access to keep in touch, talk about their learning at home etc and communicate with myself.
Below is an image of how to access these from the Purple Mash home page and one of how to find the 2email.
Welcome to Year 4 ! Myself and Mr May are sad to not be able to see you in school but be assured we are always here to help you.
In Geography this term we looked at Maps. Now you have these skills, you can continue looking at maps online. Investigate some new places, even though you can't go there, you can still learn about them.
In Maths during this term, we were looking at multiplication, division, fractions and decimals. Again, skills you can use in your homes. Watch out for the learning tasks on Purple Mash that will have you looking at your food packages in a tatally different way!
In English we wrote non-chronological reports. Now you know what makes a good one, I look forward to seeing some about the things you are interested in.
Meet the Team!
This is my third year at Templars Academy and my 15th year working in education. After teaching in year 4 last year, I was very happy to be in Year 4 again this year. Outside school, as my children are both grown up, my husband and I have been visiting some new places as we love travelling both in this country and abroad. When I am at home I like sewing and making things, gardening and I like going swimming. I have a brother and a sister who are both older than me and I have a cat called Millie who is very noisy! I am very excited about the upcoming year and learning more about the children as time goes on.
There are many other opportunities to continue your learning outside the classroom. There are the half termly projects to choose from, including a free choice for me to learn a bit more about the things that interest you. While you work on your Timestable Rockstar Status in school, you can continue this at home to build up your coins to spend improving your avatar, as well as learning your timestables which will help your progress in maths so much - so it's a winner all round!
Each week, there will be new tasks to complete on Mymaths and Purple Mash as well as lots of games available on both that you can access anytime. Lastly, the really fun bit - reading. Reading at home, at least 3 times a week, gets you a raffle ticket for the end of term draw to win books to keep! Each 50 signatures in your homework diary will earn you a certificate too. Don't forget you can also quiz at home. All the logins are in your homework diary.
If you need any help or have any questions, please let me know.
PE this term will be on
