Hello and welcome to Piccadilly Circus' class page!
My name is Miss Ashby and I have worked at Templars for the last 4 years. In this time, I have already worked in EYFS, KS1 and KS2!
I love being outside and I think outdoor learning is really important. Animals and nature are my passion! I am keen on saving the environment, cleaning the seas and saving the bees! I have 2 beautiful dogs, my biggest dog is very silly and can do a special trick where he wrinkles the end of his nose to greet people! My youngest dog is only a puppy and she is VERY naughty! I enjoy reading, spending time at the beach and being with my brilliant year 1 class!
Our main point of communication and access to learning will be provided through Purple Mash.
Children's login details were sent home via a letter and are also printed inside the front cover of the children's Home School Diaries. Purple Mash will be updated daily with learning tasks and activities, children will be sent an alert to notify them of new work. You will find a blog titled 'Piccadilly Circus Learning Blog' where I will explain learning activities and post links for videos and other fun/creative ideas. I have also created another 'Blog Page' which children and parents can access to keep in touch, talk about their learning at home etc and communicate with myself.
Below is an image on how to access our 'Learning Blog' through Purple Mash.
Sharing > Shared Blogs > Piccadilly Circus Learning Blog
Children were also issued with a MyMaths Login and a letter was sent home to parents. The login is also situated on the inside of the children's Home School Diaries. MyMaths activities will be updated daily and I will notify you of this when they become available through our Learning Blog via Purple Mash.
Where possible, children should try to complete at least 1 piece of English, 1 piece of Maths and 1 piece of work from another subject such as Science, Geography or RE, along with reading daily at home and practising spellings.
If you are unable to access the learning online, we have created some activity sheets for you with various ideas on that can be completed without the use of the internet.
I have covered the following areas: English, Spellings, Reading and Geography.
Children have 10 words to learn and practise each week.
Use the Spelling Menu above to practise many different ways to write your spellings.
Please find below some links suitable for you to use at home. GoNoodle are fun exercise breaks which you can sign up to for free and also on YouTube you will find lots of fantastic Yoga workouts hosted by Cosmic Kids which all the children has seen and used in class.
