Welcome to our Wren Class page, where we love to learn through play!
On this web page we will be putting lots of information about all the exciting things we will be doing in our class throughout the year.
Nursery is a very important and exciting time for children and parents. We offer the children lots of opportunities to learn and explore through play within our continually changing provision areas (indoors and outdoors). The children will learn through a mixture of adult led and child initiated learning, both of which are as equally important in a child's development. We will develop our independence and confidence to choose activities that we wish to do, both in class and in our outside area, we will learn to share and play fairly with others.
Thinking about questioning, encouraging and modelling correct speech and talking in sentences. we will be playing a variety of games requiring turn taking, being fair and waiting turns.
Our Theme this half term is Fireworks, Remembrance day, Winter and Christmas.
We will Talk about fireworks safety, discussing dangers of fireworks/sparklers and asking children to think of ways to keep safe
We will introduce the children to Remembrance Day. Why it is important, its symbol and why we remember and celebrate it each year – Discussing with children what they 'remember'/celebrate each year and who/what is important to them.
We will share our experiences of winter and explore how materials change.
Each Friday we will share with our friends something special from home during show and tell.
PE will take place every Wednesday. Please ensure your child does not have any jewellery on as this is not permitted for physical activity.
For the first half term we will be taking off shoes, socks and jumpers. (Please practise this at home)
We would like to develop independence this term.
We need lots of practise with:
